  1. Ha! The World's Finest heroes... plus 1. I love it. Tigerman's costume is one of the more redundant designs I've ever seen -- clad head to toe in tiger print, complete with a tiger print cape, yet we had to put a 'T' on his chest just in case we weren't sure what he was.

It was interesting that they took the phrase "Napoleon of Crime", usually used for Prof. Moriarty in the Sherlock Holmes stories, and created a villain who was a military general who dressed like he was Napoleon. I wonder if the Purple Legion just recruited former military or if they trained all of those men themselves. The story made them seem like a pretty large organization with over 20 units.

I agree with your overall assessment. An okay story, but the triple reversal all crammed on to one page at the end seemed a bit excessive.

re: Tootsie Roll Fudge -- I don't have any recollection of this stuff either. From Googling, I can't even tell when it was discontinued. Maybe I wasn't even alive yet... I did find this commercial from a kids show in the 1950s, though -- Paul Winchell Commercial - Tootsie Roll Fudge

    1. Thanks for the link. I've always found it odd that there hasn't been anything online about Tootsie Roll Fudge. As far as the Purple Legion Gang, they would need to pull a lot of jobs to afford such a large operation, especially to be able to pay double for any gang members taken to jail.
