ACTION COMICS 301, June 1963, was published around April 25, 1963. It contained 32 pages for the cover price of 12¢. Mort Weisinger was the editor, and the cover was pencilled by Curt Swan and inked by George Klein.

- The 12 page Superman story was titled THE TRIAL OF SUPERMAN, written by Edmond Hamilton and drawn by Al Plastino. This story was reprinted in SHOWCASE PRESENTS: SUPERMAN vol. IV.

- The 12 page Supergirl story was titled THE SECRET IDENTITY OF SUPER-HORSE, written by Leo Dorfman and drawn by Jim Mooney. This story was reprinted in SHOWCASE PRESENTS: SUPERGIRL vol. II.

Also highlighted in this episode are this issue's ads and other features, including the METROPOLIS MAILBAG letter column.

Elsewhere in DC Comics, 29 titles carried the June or June/July 1963 cover date, according to Mike's Amazing World Of DC Comics.

  1. Another excellent episode. I want to comment on two points. First, you mentioned that you want to "catch up" on episodes you missed, or were late with, due to the uneven nature of life. I hope I speak for all your listeners when I say that, although I'd love as many episodes as I can get, I don't want you to feel pressure about "keeping up". Stuff happens, and I don't mind if some episodes come out on the late side.
    Second, in your notes on the Super Horse story, you note that Endor is the name of the Forest Moon in the Star Wars movie "Return of the Jedi". Given that this comic far predates that movie, I think the name Endor is more likely a reference to the Witch of Endor in Chapter 28 of the First Book of Samuel in the Bible, especially since Zerox is a Sorcerer's Planet, inhabited by practitioners of magic. I should also note that, in the 30th Century tales of the Legion of Super-Heroes, Zerox is the home planet of one of the Legion's greatest foes, Mordru.
