Episode #39: THE SUPERMAN OF 2965!

Superman 181!

Download Episode 39!

CORRECTIONS: In Episode #38, on Supergirl, I mis-identified the penciller of the story LOIS LANE'S SUPER DREAM as Curt Swan. The artist was actually Kurt Schaffenberger.
And the later Supergirl title that began with issue #14 followed the numbering of the title THE DARING NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERGIRL, which ran for 13 issues, not the original Supergirl title which ran for only ten issues.

THE SUPERMAN OF 2965 first appeared in SUPERMAN #181 (November 1965), and was published on September 16, 1965. He appeared in only four stories. The art team of Curt Swan and Geroge Klein drew all four stories. Edmund Hamilton wrote the first three stories. After SUPERMAN #181, the Superman of 2965 appeared in:

ACTION COMICS #338 (June 1966), MUTO - MONARCH OF MENACE.

ACTION COMICS #339 (July 1966), MUTO VS. THE MAN OF TOMORROW.

Jim Shooter wrote the final story in WORLD'S FINEST COMICS #166 (May 1967), THE DANGER OF THE DEADLY DUO. Muto teamed with Joker XX, while the Superman of 2965 (2967 at this point) teamed up with the Batman of 2965.
